OF THE

UNITED STATES NAVY AND MARINE CORPS

JANUARY 1, 1927,

WASHINGTON

GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 1927

NOTES

1. In this issue of the Navy Register all officers on the active list of the Navy have been credited in the column headed “Prior service” only with that prior service which may be counted in the computation of pay in accordance with the act of June 10, 1922.

2. With reference to officers of the line on the active list of the Navy who are not graduates of the Naval Academy, and to all officers of the Staff Corps, and all warrant officers, the date of acceptance of permanent appointment is shown in the column headed Date of entry in lieu of the date of rank on original appointment, this procedure has been followed in view of the fact that the date of acceptance of appointment is the actual date of entry.

5. The signal numbers herein shown, preceding each officer’s name, are effective from July 1, 1927, to June 30, 1928, inclusive, for use in signals and dispatches.
